DuckCowDrive – Driving game prototype ready!

Sine the beginning of the year, I have been working on a prototype with TheKindKitten (@thekindkitten) for a brand new driving video game. DuckCowDrive is a fun endless highway driving game, where you hijack other cars at high speeds as you explore a procedurally generated world.

The prototype is ready, you can now play for free! We are looking for feedback, so please give it a try (for Windows or Mac OSX). Use the in-game feedback button to share your thoughts and ideas. Indeed, this is only a prototype of the primary hijacking mechanism of the game, so don’t expect hours of content and a polished story. It’s more like minutes of gameplay, and no story at all, but hopefully still fun to play.

Development plan

So what’s the plan after this? With the prototype out, work will soon begin work on the real driving game. To be clear, it will awhile before an alpha build is ready. However, we plan to update the prototype to test new ideas to get rapid feedback. The game will include:

  • Procedurally generated, endless world
  • Variety of cars and driving abilities
  • Location discovery and exploration
  • Collaborative and competitive online experience
